Assignment Description
Take a roll of film recording angles of artificial light as it plays on objects or subjects.  Experiment with flood lights, fill light, and flash as well as the effects of positioning the light at optimum locations for strong lighting effects. Good lighting should both reveal forms as well as enhance the image with strong value patterns.

Objective
To learn to use several forms of artificial light.

Film: 1 (24 exp.) Roll of choice  ISO 100, 125 or 400 (remember the relationship between speed and grain)

Note:  Refer to Photography 6th ed., Upton & Upton, Chapter 11
 Read chapter 11, pp. 230-251., Look carefully at the examples of various artificial light sources. Look especially at pp.232-233, 238-239 and 246-250.   Then set up indoors in an interesting location and take several photos to capture the following:
 

 1.  Simple Multiple Light Portrait                                   3 prints


 
2.  Artificially lit objects

                      AND                      AND

 Hand in:

1. Shot record
2. Negative sleeve
3. Contact print
4. Eight prints (one for each of the above).
