raise with the right hand at about the 4 or 5 o'clock position. Never
hold your hand at the 2 or 3 o'clock position.

both outside and inside pressure points must
be directly opposite each other.
Use enough pressure
to thin and raise the clay, but not enough to tear it off.
Tearing it off is normal
Try again and again
to find the right pressure to raise it, but not tear it off or twist it.
Use a slow, steady,
continuous firm upward motion to pull clay up.
As you move up, gradually
change all the pressure to outside only
to keep the top as small as possible.
This produces a vertical
cone shaped cylinder that is smaller at the top.
