both outside and inside pressure points must
exert about equal pressure directly against each other.
Use a slow, steady,
firm upward motion to pull clay up.
As you move up gradually
change all the pressure to outside only
to keep the top as small as possible.
This produces a vertical
cone shaped cylinder.
If you get a
wobble, lubricate it well with water.
Then do a "false
raise" without pressure between inside and outside,
but use steady unwavering raising motion to straighten it.
Sometimes wobbles come
from poor wedging. Part of the clay is softer.
