Serious consideration is being given to moving some of this experience into the community since hospital patient numbers

are decreasing. I will be exploring this option on my sabattical starting Jan. 1998.

Pharmacology

Introduction to drug classifications, prototypes and drug administration in lab and clinical settings.

During my sabattical I will be redesigning this course to include alternate ways of learning in and out of the classroom.

Mock Convention

This concept is approximately one-third of the Community Health course. The entire department, including faculty,

are assigned to "districts" in September . These districts develop resolutions and submit them for presentation at

"Convention". All districts meet for one day in Feb. to debate the issues selected. This event is orchastrated by an

"Executive Board" of senior students which were elected at Convention . I act as the advisor to this event. This

concept has been presented at a national convention and is published in The Journal of Nursing Education.
