Vibration analysis - final report
November 2023 - Shortening the form of this report to omit the need for doing the finite element analysis in Fusion 360
Prepare a well-organized report about the 2-4 vibration modes you studied with the laser holography system. Include the following items:
- Your starting plate. A photograph or diagram that you make from your Fusion 360 drawing of your plate. There should be some indication on your image / diagram of where you clamped the plate.
At least one dimension of the plate should be given to get an idea of the size of the plate. Write a brief description of the plate including the material (alunimum) and the thickness.
- Vibration modes. The images you gathered from the laser holography set up of the 2-4 vibration modes of your plate and with the frequency for each vibration mode clearly labelled.
- Your modified plate. Provide a similar labelled image or diagram of your modified plate.
- Predictions. List your predictions of the effects on the various modes including your reasoning as much as possible.
- Vibration modes. For your modified plate, you have tried to find a new vibration mode that seems to be related to each of the 2-4 modes you found on your initial plate. Include the laser holography pictures of each of these modes, clearly labelled with the frequency
- Discussion. Can you see any pattern to how the modes changed from your original plate to the modified plate? Did some of the modes shift more / less than the others? Can you guess about why one mode shifted more than another in frequency? if (! $homepage){ $stylesheet="/~paulmr/class/comments.css"; if (file_exists("/home/httpd/html/cment/comments.h")){ include "/home/httpd/html/cment/comments.h"; } } ?>
