Pumpkinvine trail maintenance
20 ptsThe Pumpkinvine trail is popular walking/biking rail trail that connects Goshen with Middlebury.
Every Tuesday morning in September / October, a group of volunteers gathers at Abshire Park and walks up the Pumpkinvine trail. They remove invasive species from spots with rich concentrations of native species.
Call John Smith, 574-903-0191, ahead of time to confirm that you're coming and that they're planning to go out on the trail.
Vote in the Fall election
10 pts
In Indiana, the election this November is a municipal election for Mayor, city council, and a few other city officials.
Here is where to vote in Elkhart County. The closest voting location to Goshen College is the Greencroft Community Center (about 5 blocks East of the GC Music Center).
As "proof" of voting, upload a selfie taken at the voting center. I think they all have a background for you to pose against after you've voted, to let others know what you've done!
You must be registered by October 10 in IN in order to vote in this year's elections. To register:
- In-person at local election office [Choose Elkhart County to find where to register]

Good news: We don’t have to pick one or another!Project Drawdown has identified a set of specific technologies and practices that address multiple challenges simultaneously and synergistically, creating an exciting opportunity for funders and development agencies to dramatically amplify impact while working to address the world’s most pressing needs.

Trevor Stutzman / Bus 3.0
5 pts
Dec 5, 3:15 PM
Meet in the Science main lobby to go and get a tour of Trevor Stutzman's bus.
When covid came along, Trevor decided to take a gap year off from GC. He converted a used school bus into a mobile apartment for himself and travelled the country.
He sold the bus, came back and graduated from GC. Now he's working on bus #3, using what he has learned along the way. It has electrical independence with solar panels on the roof, sewage independence with a composting toilet, and many other features. Come see the bus and ask Trevor about his travels.
